David Coq Xol Memorial Scholarship

Beginning January 2025, TEACH is excited to beginning to provide a new scholarship to honor the brief life of David Coq Xol, son of Ernesto Coc Xol and Imelda Tzi Pacham, both of whom have been teachers for many years at the Semuy Basico school with gratitude for their service and inspiration.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student from Semuy who has completed Middle and High School studies with TEACH support and is pursuing post-secondary or University level studies.

  • Recommendation and monitoring – Victor Xol, Semuy director

  • Amount - $1000 per year available, renewable each year

  • Duration – 3 years, dependent on course of study.

  • 2025 Awardee – Mayra Griselda Caal Ical, Second year of studies at University of San Carlos, majoring in Pedagogy and Education Administration
